About Chalad Labs

Making AI education feel less daunting, one programme at a time

We started Chalad Labs because we noticed that most AI courses moved too fast, promised too much, or left learners to figure things out alone. We wanted something steadier.

Our Story

How Chalad Labs came to be

Chalad Labs was founded in Nakhon Ratchasima in 2021 by a small group of developers and educators who had spent years watching talented people struggle with AI courses that weren't designed for human learning timescales. The courses existed. The demand existed. But the experience of actually completing one — while holding down work, managing a family, or simply not coming from a computer science background — was unnecessarily hard.

The name "Chalad" (ฉลาด) means clever or intelligent in Thai — not the flashy, disruptive kind, but the patient, applied kind. We thought that described what we were trying to build: programmes that help people become genuinely capable, not just certificate-holders.

Since opening, we have worked with learners from across Thailand and the wider region — professionals looking to shift careers, recent graduates wanting practical skills, and curious people who simply wanted to understand what AI actually is. Each programme has been shaped by those conversations.

Our Mission

A steady, well-marked path

Our mission is simple: give every learner a clear route through AI and programming education, with honest expectations at every step and real people to turn to when the path gets unclear.

We design each programme so you know exactly what's coming before you commit. Scope, workload, what you'll produce, and what you'll be able to do afterwards — all of it is set out plainly. There are no hidden prerequisites, no sudden gear changes, and no pressure to move faster than you're ready to.

The Team

People who care about how you learn

SK

Somchai Kiatsuwan

Head of Curriculum

Spent eight years building ML pipelines for logistics companies before moving into education. He designs the programme structure and writes most of the technical content.

NP

Narisara Phuttharak

Lead Mentor

Data scientist with a background in academic research. Narisara leads the feedback and mentorship side of all three programmes, and is the person most learners talk to when they're stuck.

AT

Aroon Thongchai

Platform & Support

Handles the technical side of the learning platform and is the first point of contact for any access or technical questions. Also contributes to the intro programme's coding exercises.

Standards

How we approach quality

Transparent programme specs

Every programme publishes its scope, weekly time commitment, and project requirements before enrolment. No surprises after you've paid.

Human feedback on every submission

Our mentors review each exercise and project personally. Feedback is specific, constructive, and returned within three working days.

Content reviewed regularly

AI and data science move quickly. We review all programme content twice a year to ensure exercises and references stay current and relevant.

Learner data protection

We store only what's needed to deliver your programme and never share your data with third parties for marketing. Full details in our Privacy Policy.

Responsible AI in the curriculum

Ethical considerations and responsible deployment are woven into the advanced programme — not tacked on as a final module, but addressed throughout.

Support in Thai and English

Programmes are in English, but our support team is comfortable in Thai. If you have a question mid-study, you can reach us in whichever language works better for you.

Our Values

What Chalad Labs stands for

AI development is a discipline that rewards patience and practice. At Chalad Labs, we design programmes around that reality rather than against it. Each course moves at a pace that lets concepts settle before building on them, and we provide enough material for learners to revisit anything they found challenging the first time.

We think clear expectations are a form of respect. Before you join any programme, you know what you'll be asked to do, how long it's likely to take, and what you'll have produced by the end. There is no hidden complexity, and we don't describe outcomes in terms we can't honestly support.

Online AI education in Thailand has grown substantially, and we think that's a good thing. Our aim is to contribute to that growth by producing learners who are genuinely capable — people who understand the work they're doing and can apply it to problems that matter to them, whether that means career development, personal projects, or further study.

We're a small school and we intend to stay manageable in size. Keeping cohorts small means our mentors can give each learner's work real attention, and it means we can adjust quickly when something isn't working.
